Grampound Road CC has always taken pride in offering the highest levels of coaching for all age groups, from Ball Skills age groups right through to our Senior teams. All of our members are encouraged to undertake qualifications whether that be coaching or umpiring and as a Club we look to invest in our Members to support them through the process.
Martin Roberts
Martin started coaching just over 40 years ago when he passed his coaching badge at 16 years of age. Since then he has moved through the coaching levels, where he gained Level 3 status in 1995 along with becoming a level 1&2 Assessor in 2001. During Martin's coaching life he ran his own Ball Skills club, which catered for 5-11 year olds. Martin also supported the Cornwall Cricket Board by being one of their Lead coaches spanning over 18 years from 1991-2009. Between 1985 and 1991 Martin played cricket professionally for Glamorgan County Cricket Club as a wicketkeeper/batsman. On returning to Cornwall, he played club cricket until joining Grampound Road in 1998 as a player coach, winning the league in our first season taking Grampound Road into the top flight of Cornish cricket. Due to work commitments Martin needed to take a break from cricket for a number of years, before returning to play a couple of years ago. Martin is now into his second season as Director of Cricketfor Grampound Road, with his focus being on player and coach development, inclusivity and enjoyment.

Last season Ian coached the Dynamo’s sessions and was delighted to see the players develop their skills over the summer.
