Club Aims and Values

At Grampound Road CC we believe that the most important aspect of our Club is our Purpose and our Aims and Values. That is why we set out what these are to ensure that everyone who comes into contact with the club, whether as a Member, Opposition Player, Official, Visitor, Spectator or Sponsor, has an unequivocal understanding of Grampound Road CC's purpose, aims and values.

To promote a safe, supportive, social & family environment for everyone to learn and play cricket at all levels.

This has been adopted as the overarching principle which guides everything we do as a Community Amateur Sports Club. This purpose is embodied in our club values which inform decision-making and everyday activities across the club.

• Enjoyment - we want everyone to enjoy their experience at the club with friendships, social events and competitive or social cricket.
• Respect - we treat our sport, fellow Members, opposition players, umpires, coaches and volunteers with the respect we would expect ourselves and ensure that cricket is played in the correct manner through promotion of the Spirit of Cricket.
• Inclusivity - the opportunity for all, regardless of age, gender, ability or disabilities to play and enjoy both competitive and recreational cricket in a fair environment, promoting equality of access and proactively recognising and addressing inequalities.
• Integrity - to create trust between all our Members, the wider community and all those who interact with the Club, ensure fairness within the game of cricket and respect for the values this Club holds.
• Ambition - we aim to grow the game of cricket in Cornwall, improve the skills and performance of all players, captains, umpires and volunteers and to increase local participation in cricket and at our club.

Our Club aims to be the pre-eminent Cricket Club in Mid-Cornwall by working towards full sustainability in all aspects of the club both on and off the pitch from the development of Junior players to sustainable practices in running the club.

Our mission is to be the most progressive cricket club in Cornwall and to be respected throughout Cornwall's cricketing community and our immediate local community for the development we undertake. That involves providing an attractive environment and a welcoming club atmosphere for both playing and non-playing Members.

We also aim to provide the local community, through access to our facilities, an open and safe environment for all to enjoy the game of cricket and a social hub for local residents to foster community spirit.

As part of these aims Grampound Road Cricket Club produces a Development Plan to set out its plans for the forthcoming years which is designed to give a roadmap for the Club, its Committee and its Members to work towards developments and improvements both on and off the field.
